Where is my data stored?
Everything stays locally inside your browser's private storage. No accounts, external databases, or third-party servers are used.
How does the Import feature work?
Clicking Import lets you select a previously exported .json backup file to restore your entire collection, including all coin details and photos.
Are there monthly fees or hidden costs?
No. CoinTrack.io is 100% free with no subscriptions or recurring fees.
How do I backup my collection?
Open Menu at the top right and click Export JSON Backup to download a single backup file containing all your coin records and images. The Menu shows when you last backed up, and CoinTrack reminds you when a new backup is due.
Can I install CoinTrack like an app?
Yes. On iPhone or iPad, open cointrack.io in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android or in Chrome and Edge on a computer, use Install app at the bottom of the page or the install icon in the address bar. Once installed it opens in its own window and works without an internet connection.
How do I add bullion?
Press + New and choose Bullion. Pick the metal, enter the weight of one piece (in troy ounces, grams or kilograms) and how many you have, plus what you paid in total. The product name, value and date are optional. For graded or collectible coins, choose Coin instead.
How do I verify a graded coin?
Add the cert number from the slab label when you add or edit a coin. For PCGS and NGC coins, the coin's details then show a Verify link that opens the grading service's certificate lookup. NGC's lookup also needs the numeric grade, e.g. MS-63.
What are the Wishlist and Sold lists?
When adding or editing a coin, choose whether it's in your collection, on your wishlist or sold. Wishlist coins track a target price; sold coins keep what you paid and what you sold for, so you can see your realized gain. Only coins in your collection count toward the collection stats.
How do I give my collection to an insurer or open it in a spreadsheet?
In the Menu at the top right, Download CSV opens in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets, and Inventory PDF creates a printable list with photos, grades, cert numbers and values. Both cover the collection you have selected, or everything when All coins is selected.
